This is unsurprising, especially if you believe what Suge Knight has been predicting. President Donald Trump has broken his silence on the federal case surrounding Sean “Diddy” Combs, suggesting he might consider a pardon depending on the outcome.
The so-called revelation went down during a recent press conference. POTUS responded to a reporter’s question about whether he would consider pardoning Diddy if the music mogul were to be convicted in the Southern District of New York’s racketeering and trafficking case.
“First, I’d have to look at what’s happening,” President Trump said, noting that despite the widespread media coverage, he has not been closely tracking the developments.
President Trump also acknowledged the complicated history between him and Diddy, reflecting on how their relationship reportedly shifted once Trump entered the political arena.
“I haven’t spoken to him in years,” he said. “He used to really like me a lot, but I think when I ran for politics, it busted up that relationship from what I read.”
Still, President Trump insisted that personal feelings would not influence his decision on potential clemency.
“If I think someone was mistreated, whether they like me or don’t like me it wouldn’t have any impact on me,” he said.
Well, there you have it. Win or lose, looks like Diddy may or may not have a safety net.
