As speculation builds around a possible presidential pardon for Sean Diddy Combs, conservative voices are already pushing back. One of the loudest critics is media personality Megyn Kelly, who has taken to social media to urge President Trump not to intervene in the music mogul’s legal battle.
Rumors of a pardon began circulating after a Deadline report claimed Trump is “seriously considering” granting clemency to Diddy, who is currently facing federal charges and awaiting sentencing. Diddy could be looking at up to 20 years in prison when he appears in court on October 3.
Kelly made her stance crystal clear on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. “Trump should not pardon Diddy. He doesn’t deserve it,” she wrote. Kelly referred to the hip hop icon as a “woman abuser” and referenced his convictions tied to the alleged transportation of individuals for prostitution. Her warning was blunt that pardoning Diddy could hurt Trump with conservative-leaning young women, a demographic the GOP has been working hard to win over ahead of November.
While Trump has not confirmed any decisions, he addressed the issue during a recent briefing. “I would certainly look at the facts if I think somebody was mistreated, whether they like me or don’t like me. It wouldn’t have any impact on me,” he said when asked about the potential pardon.
