Nike is merging anime nostalgia with sneaker innovation in the Air Max 95 QS YGO, a special-edition design inspired by Joey Wheeler’s shoes in the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime series. More than 25 years after Joey’s underdog rise captured fans’ hearts, the silhouette appears in real life for the first time.
The sneaker mirrors Joey’s look from the show, with blue tones, layered paneling, lace loops, scratch marks, and a hidden Air unit. Each pair comes with custom, playable Nike x Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game cards, marking the first official collaboration between KONAMI and another brand on TCG cards.
The launch also includes a Nike Destroyer jacket inspired by Domino High School varsity wear and heavyweight tees with co-branded graphics and Red-Eyes Black Dragon art.
The Air Max 95 QS YGO releases globally September 12 in the “Joey” colorway via SNKRS and select Nike retailers, with the “Jonouchi” edition exclusive to Japan.
