Former Daily Show host Jon Stewart may have passed the torch to Trevor Noah, but his love for satirizing news won’t fade.

The comedian’s new gig will put a spin on his antics from an animated perspective, reports Variety. Last November, Stewart inked a four-year deal with HBO, the network hosting his latest venture. Network executive Casey Bloys disclosed the details on all things Stewart and HBO yesterday with the Television Critics Association [Saturday, July 30].

“The idea is it will be an animated parody of a cable news network with an Onion-like portal,” Bloys says.

According to Bloys, Otoy 3D graphic designers will be aiding the comedian. He will always have animators on-deck as soon as news unfolds, giving him quick turnarounds. The visuals won’t be too elaborate so that Stewart can report stories day of.

Bloys estimates that Stewart’s animated series will debut on HBO no earlier than fall.
