Nike is known for always being at the center of sneaker innovation, and sometimes they can go completely left when it comes to thinking outside the box. Take this new iteration of the Air Max 1 for example, which is completely covered in a grass-like texture in honor of the current 2018-19 PGA Tour season.
The Air Max 1 Golf “Grass,” as the shoe is officially being called, is completely covered in a synthetic turf-looking material. The theme is balanced out with a more generic look for the Swoosh, utilizing a crisp white Air Zoom midsole and gum outsole for a clean finish to an otherwise wild set of kicks. The laces and insoles are also constructed with familiar materials, even though both are also tonal to the overall green scheme of things. The timing is pretty perfect, too; with Matt Kuchar’s big win for the USA at the Sony Open in Hawaii yesterday (Jan 13) and the Desert Classic going down in Cali within less than a week, golf mania is experiencing a major high right now. Why not rock these as the ultimate drip while out on the course?
