Andy Pettitte has had a storied career with the Yankees, which made him a favorite in the Bronx. He was named to 3 All-Star teams, won 5 World Series, and he is the New York Yankees all time strikeout leader. He normally managed to stay quite quiet off field, and had a good boy image in the league. And then in 2007, fans got some bad news.
He admitted to taking performance enhancing drugs in 2002. This was out totally out of character, but coming clean about his misdeeds was not. While fans were disappointed, it wasn’t long for many to forgive him. He has since continued to pitch, at the age of 41. He will probably still be considered a Yankee great when he finally gives the game up for good.
