We’ve heard sound samples on mixtapes before but rarely, if ever, is an entire TV commercial sampled. However the relevance of this clip works on dual levels. The descriptive nature of the commercial’s product, the 2 for $20 deal and its creamy Cajun shrimp is in-keeping with the Bronson gourmand persona, but the commercial also features two former NCAA coaches. Former Hoosier’s coach Bobby Knight who cameo’d actually in the original “Blue Chips” movie is seen sitting down with Former Notre Dame coach Digger Phelps, in a moment of rare peace thanks to Applebee’s delicious fare. Interestingly, SNL’s Jason Sudeikis did the voice over for this spot.
