2013 was a stand-out year in terms of quality games on all available platforms. Developers tend to do their best work at the very end of a console generation, and the competition for overall game of the year was pretty fierce. I personally would have gone a different way on a few of the winners but the nominees were selected by some of the most well respected names in games media, and the winners are well deserving.
