#3. Jay Z vs. Marco Rubio
Back in May of 2013, Marco Rubio, Florida Congressman, criticized Jay and Beyonce for visiting Cuba for a, “tourist trip” rather than a relief aid type visit. He even made a claim that all they were succeeding at was funding Cuba. Jay Z later made a “diss track,” if you will, responding to Marco’s comments, titled, “Open Letter Part 2 Remix,” featuring Common. He rapped lyrics about how he turned “Havana to Atlanta,” connecting, “Black America” to Cuba, which is also rich with black culture. He went on to describe how politicians never did anything for him but made lies. Being a child of the ghetto, Jay has good reason to say what he does. Although Jay trash talked politicians in this song, he’s developed a friendship with the biggest politician arguably on the face of the Earth, President Obama. Marco made some good points though, whether you’re a Jay fan or not. Marco: 1, Jay Z: 0.
