#10. Talib Kweli vs. Republicans

Talib Kweli, a man of many words. Maybe too many. In a 2013 interview regarding politics and related matter, Kweli was quoted as saying, “Once you identify yourself as a republican, you identify yourself as an enemy of people.” Classifying a whole group of American voters as enemies of people was a bold statement, and maybe too bold. Kweli went into detail about how the Republican Party is a, “racist reaction to the Democratic policies of 1964.” He continued to justify and perhaps “even out” his prior statement by saying that democrats can be just as bad. He said that once he knows you’re a republican, he already knows, “what you’re about.” Has the Republican Party made a public response? Well, no, but that’s probably in part due to the fact that no one in the political party knows what a Talib Kweli is. Talib has not changed the course of the party, and the party certainly hasn’t changed the course of Talib, so I declare this one a stand-off. Republicans: 0. Talib Kweli: 0.
