It appears that Devin Hester’s tenure with the Chicago Bears is coming to an end. After spending eight seasons returning kicks for the Bears, Hester and the Chicago franchise will go their separate ways. Devin Hester is known as one of most successful returners in NFL history. He shares the record for most career return touchdowns (19) with Hall of Famer Deion Sanders. The most memorable moment in Hester’s career came in Superbowl XLI where he returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown.
The news came Wednesday when Hester posted on his Facebook page:
Hester was selected to three pro bowls and could be a future Hall of Fame candidate for his accomplishments. As a free agent many teams could use his ability to return kicks. Hester told reporters that there is a possibility that he would join former coach Lovie Smith in Tampa Bay with the Buccaneers organization. Hester and Smith spent 7 seasons together in Chicago where they made a Superbowl appearance in 2007.
