Winning Her First Grammy
She became the first female rapper to ever win a Grammy Award. She won the award back in 1995 for Best Rap Solo Performance for the single, “U.N.I.T.Y.” and she was first nominated back in 1989 for Best Rap Performance but boycotted the ceremony because they wouldn’t televise the category and that resulted all of the rappers at the time who were nominated to all stand together.
