Though the whirlwind that was Kanye West‘s The Life of Pablo roll-out and Yeezy Season 3 reveal is over, we certainly aren’t going to watch Yeezy crawl into a hole and be heard from again in another two or three years. For lack of a better term, West is out here, constantly ranting on Twitter, breaking up fights between paparazzi, promoting his collaborations, and constantly declaring that he’ll be “updating” his album.
Since T.L.O.P.‘s release, Kanye has promised a “fixed” version of “Wolves,” his collaboration with Frank Ocean, and new music featuring Drake and Future, who both contributed to The Life of Pablo in non-vocal capacity, but he apparently has another new record featuring Sampha in the stash. Last night at 1OAK L.A., West–as is tradition–took the “stage” (he stood atop the DJ booth with a microphone) and went on a brief rant before letting loose with the premiere of “Closest Thing to Einstein,” featuring Sampha, the British singer probably best known state-side for his work wit Drake on Nothing Was The Same‘s “Too Much.” The song also sounds as if it samples Jay Z‘s “Where I’m From, and is a bit on the lengthy side, clocking in at just under 8 minutes, as per the above YouTube clip.
Hopefully this will be one of the G.O.O.D. Friday songs Kanye promised would be arriving on TIDAL after the release of his album.
