ESPN anchor Bomani Jones, known for his role as the host of Highly Questionable and being a legendary thrower of Twitter shade, wore an interesting t-shirt during a guest appearance of this morning’s episode of The Mike & Mike Show. This interesting t-shirt has pissed off lots of people.
Why, you ask? Well, the logo emblazoned on the front of the shirt says “Caucasians,” featuring the animated head of what’s supposed to be a “Caucasian,” which is a reimagining of the controversial Cleveland Indians logo, which features the head of what’s supposed to be an “Indian” (it’s really a weak and irresponsible depiction of a Native American).
The outrage on Twitter was immediate, and Jones responded to some of the more interesting inquiries, like this gentleman here, who pretty much summed up the entire point Jones was likely trying to make in the first place by wearing the shirt on national television.
or…indians? https://t.co/anat5DWOE3

Or this guy, who was so convinced he was making a good point he didn’t realize–or he did realize, and just didn’t know any better, which is probable–he was acting as if the terms “Indians” and “Native Americans” were interchangeable.
@bomani_jones the name “The Indians” was a tribute to former player Louis Sockalexis who was native American, funny did you mention that? — John Sheehy (@lunapark010) April 7, 2016
In any case, all the outrage against Jones’ shirt pretty much exhibits the kind of outrage actual Indian and Native American people feel when they see things like the merciless promotion of the Cleveland Indians logo, or the pushback from the Washington Redskins owner when the offensive nature of his team’s name is brought up.
