What do these beautiful Black women have in common? They are like fine wine and get better with time. Sometimes we forget that they are all over the age of 40. They continue to remind us that Black Don’t Crack! Soon we will have the pleasure of seeing a show that revolves around the notion that black really doesn’t crack. Oscar winner Viola Davis and co-creator of Insecure Larry Wilmore are teaming up to co-executive produce this comedy, Black Don’t Crack, set to air on ABC. The storyline will follow three sorority sisters who have lost touch after college and finally reunite after some years. The audience will see three women who seemed to not have cracked even years after college but go through experiences that all African-American women can relate to. ABC already has us hooked with Black-ish, How to Get Away with Murder, Grey’s Anatomy, and Scandal and now another show will just keep us coming back to the network for more. With Viola Davis, her producing partner and husband Julius Tennnon, Larry Wilmore and writer on the hit show Insecure, Regina Hicks, this comedy will be giving us some good laughs. A team like this will have women going through a wave of emotions that I’m not sure any of us are ready for but we’ll take it. ABC has not released any dates or cast members yet but we’ll be waiting!
