Pharrell’s latest expeditions with adidas have spanned across a global front, but one place that seems to always be a source of inspiration is East Africa. With the latest SOLARHU collection, flags from the culture-filled region are used to create a colorful capsule that’ll have you running for joy into the new season.
The biggest surprise here is the debut of a new silhouette, constructed from a Continental rubber outsole and BOOST midsole. While the build is a sight to see for sure — a handful of technical materials are incorporated to ensure comfort and durability — it’s the colorways that steal the show for sure. The three options available are all inspired by the flag colors as mentioned above, and it looks like Tanzania, Ethiopia and Madagascar are the regions they paid homage to. The set is completed with a range of athletic apparel, including tees, performance tights, tanks and shorts, that incorporate classic African patterns with perfection.
