Portland Trail Blazers superstar point guard and Hip-Hop Artist Damian Lillard a.k.a Dame D.O.L.L.A. is just as confident in the booth as he is on the court. In a recent interview, he told The SOURCE that both go hand in hand as his first loves.

“I really love to do music and I’ve done it as long as I’ve played since I was a kid. So like I don’t just do it halfway. I do it for real,” Lillard said.

His confidence radiated on another interview Lillard did on The Joe Budden Podcast. The trio of Joe, Rory and Mal questioned D.O.L.L.A. on if he was the best rapper that played in the NBA, before offering Shaq as his only competition.

“Shaq got joints,” Budden offered.

“You think you got better music than Shaq?,” Mal asked.

“I rap better than Shaq,” D.O.L.L.A. replied. “I’ve heard Shaq stuff. I think he was viewed as Shaq though. It wasn’t like Shaq and Biggie. People wasn’t looking at it like a real rapper, it was Shaq rapping that was a big deal.”

D.O.L.L.A. did what most rappers do, put the stock in themselves as the best, while also showing The Big Aristotle some love.

For Shaq, the words didn’t register in flattery, which he would respond with a diss titled “Bumpboxx,” which he posts on Instagram with the caption “I except all challenges.” The “Can’t Stop the Reign” emcee and four-time NBA Champion is still sharp on the mic, pulling his own history, Forbes list ranking and more.

Shaq also attacks Lillard with comparisons to Trevor Ariza and also states he wishes he could be Stephen Curry and Russell Westbrook before saying it was just a warning. You can hear the song below.
