We’ve seen the snakeskin trend make it onto the Air Jordan 12, Air Jordan 11 Low and even the Air Foamposite One in recent times, but the reptilian vibes have been a staple in the Swoosh vault for decades. One example that goes back all the way to 1996 is the “Ivory Snake” Air Force 1, which is finally making a return to shelves next week after 23 years.

Coming with a pair of matching tube socks (seen above), the rare colorway returns after releasing as an Asia-exclusive drop back in the mid ’90s. The 2019 reiteration keeps with the OG design, keeping the Ivory Ball Python inspo intact from the side panel Swoosh down to the heel counter. The rest of the silhouette stays crisp with a white leather construction, which will please a lot of Nike heads that regularly cop white-on-white Uptowns every summer. Additional specs include a black tongue tab with Nike Air branding, another hit of Nike Air branding in black via the heel and crisp white laces to complete the clean take on a classic model. A welcomed return, indeed.

The Nike Air Force 1 “Ivory Snake” returns next Wednesday (May 22) at Nike.com and a handful of select retailers, including asphaltgold, Solebox and 43einhalb who provided the lookbook images below:
