Suns Receive: Pau Gasol
Lakers Receive: Emeka Okafor, First Round Pick
Pau Gasol has been in trade talks in the past four seasons. He has remained professional and loyal to the Lakers organization despite the continued drama and rumors, but we think a deal that makes sense for the Lakers and another team is finally in place.
Gasol would join a Suns squad that is looking to come out on top in the Wild Wild West. Currently sitting in the sixth spot in the West and five games behind a tough Portland Trailblazers team followed by the top four in the Clippers, Rockets, Spurs and Thunder, Phoenix is missing a legit piece that could make them a legit contender in the playoffs.
The Lakers season is basically finished, with a hobbling Steve Nash and an injured Kobe Bryant that may be nearing the end. It would be smart for them to gain a decent asset in Okafor and a first round draft pick.
