Timberwolves Receive: Evan Turner Thaddeus Young
Sixers Receive: JJ Barea, Shabazz Muhammad Ronny Turiaf & A 2016 First Round Pick
There is a lot going on in this potential trade, but it makes sense for both teams.
It’s time for the Minnesota Timberwolves to take a stand. With rumors that superstar Kevin Love will be leaving Minnesota for greener pastures once free agency arrives this summer, the Timberwolves need to at least make an attempt at surrounding more talent around him. Picking up valuable assets in Evan Turner and Thaddeus Young from a tanking Sixers team could give them a push in the right direction. Although keeping Love seems like a stretch at this point, this move will at least make it seem like the Timberwolves are sending some help Love’s way.
On the other hand, the Sixers are done. They should continue the tanking process by getting rid of two more valuable pieces in Turner and Young with hopes of building for the future and landing the first pick in the 2014 draft this summer. They can add to the rebuilding efforts by snatching a 2016 first round pick from the Timberwolves.
