Alarming Video Shows A Man Literally On Fire Running Across A Brooklyn Street

He almost hit an innocent bystander

A 22-year old man in the process of opening a hookah bar in the Borough Park neighborhood of Brooklyn suffered severe burns after a horrific accident in the basement of the store space lit him on fire. In the above startling video acquired by the New York Daily News, the man has visibly been set ablaze by the small explosion, and appears to be barely conscious as he stumbles through the street and sidewalk, almost sideswiping a woman who was walking nearby. According to the NYDN, a witness yelled for the man to “stop, drop, and roll,” which he didn’t immediately do, and his eventual fate isn’t visible in the video clip.

Panicking neighbors ran to the man to help him extinguish the flames that were consuming his body. A FDNY official admitted that the man was “really badly burned,” and fire marshalls were investigating what started the blaze. Watch the video here.
