5. Preakness Stakes
The 140th running of the Preakness Stakes took place on Saturday at the Pimlico track in Baltimore, Maryland. The big time horse racing event is considered the 2nd leg of the prestigious Triple Crown that each horses been fighting for. With celebs and sports figures such as Olympic skier Lindsey Von, Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Logano, and ESPN reporter Herm Edwards were in attendence to witness American Pharoah become notorious. With this victory, the talented horse is just one event way from becoming the first horse since Affirmed in 1978 to become a Triple Crown winner. Next event for the thoroughbred is the Belmont Stakes in New York City. As potential history will be made, expect astronomical amount of money be up for grabs as the real ballers and shot callers will be on hand to let it rain on their favorite horses. I wouldn’t be surprise we see another Money Mayweather sports bet sighting on the day of the race.
