A Tribe Called Quest
In Michael Rapaport’s documentary Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest , the group revealed that due to label disputes and an internal rupture is what led to a drift between the three members. Even years later and after the movie premiered, the tension was still at it’s peak. At the film’s premier at the Sundance Film Festival, Phife broke down giving a timid but brave speech about the film and his feelings about the events following their breakup.
