“On that diamonds remix, I swore I spazzed/Then big brother came through and kicked my ass.” Yes, Ye, we, know, but don’t downplay your work like that. This verse was brilliant. From the vivid depiction of something America loves to pretend doesn’t exist, “Good morning, this ain’t Vietnam, still/people lose hands, legs, arms, for real,” to the deft hand off the baton to Jay, “What’s up with you and Jay man, are y’all okay man?” had Jay not come through with one of the best verses of his career, this would’ve been one hell of a moment for Ye.
